The Munitions Assembly Conveyor (MAC) is a pneumatic powered, mechanized assembly line where one gantry is used to load unassembled munitions onto a conveyor table – assemble the munitions across four conveyor tables (each three meters long and one meter high) – and load the assembled munitions at the other gantry onto munitions trailers. Each conveyor table has built-in air delivery lines.
The MAC noticeably increases the efficiency of munitions buildup operations and significantly decreases the amount of time required to assemble bombs and other munitions. The MAC can be completely assembled or disassembled in an hour or less for easy storage or transport. It can be elevated to a minimum height of 14 feet and a maximum height of 18 feet.
The MAC is used to assemble unguided munitions such as MK-81, MK-82, MK-83, and MK-84 bombs. It can also facilitate the BLU-109 Penetrator and cluster bombs. The guided munitions list includes all types of JDAM, GBU-10, GBU-12, GBU-15, GBU-24, and other guided munitions and bombs.
