- United Manufacturing formed and later became Prototype Development, Inc.
1993
- Assets of Prototype Development acquired – PDI Ground Support Systems established
1996
- Assets of Savoy Manufacturing, a manufacturer of running gear, acquired
- Obtained ISO certification
2007
- Acquired 90% interest in ZITEC, located in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida – a small defense contractor with emphasis on AME and other weapons support systems. This business was sold in 2014 to the 10% owner
2010
- Relocated to a 105,000 sf facility in Solon, Ohio
2017
- PDI named exporter of the year for Region V by US Small Business Administration
- PDI recognized by General Atomics as a top tier 1% supplier
2018
- PDI received Gold Medal supplier award from BAE Systems
- PDI received Presidential “E Award” in recognition of exporting excellence (PDI was one of 44 companies in the United States to receive this prestigious award)
- Acquired the assets of KWD Manufacturing and renamed to KWD Aircraft Support Equipment
2020
- Relocated KWD to Solon, Ohio and integrated production of its product lines
- KWD finishes year with 3.92/4.00 rating from Lockheed Martin for quality and timeliness of deliveries

2023
- Aquired the assets of Polytechnic Industries and renamed to Polytech Defense Spares
